The Blogger Collective: Meet the Ambassadors.

Rome wasn’t built in a day, and it wasn’t built without help.

You need a team around you; dependable people with skills that further your mission. Turns out, this also applies when building a blogging community. You just also need the members of that team to be well-dressed.

We wanted to introduce you to the ambassadors. These girls run awesome blogs, have authentic voices, and are full of knowledge just waiting to be shared– so let’s get to know ’em better.

Angela is a little ball of sunshine with a great eye for finding affordable dupes and runs Head to Toe Chic.

1) Why did you start blogging?
I was working for a mortgage company back in 2011, which wasn’t a very creative job. I started reading fashion blogs and became really interested in them. I then started talking to my husband about it, and he encouraged me to start my own fashion blog. It has been the perfect creative outlet for me, and the past 3 years have been so much fun!

2) What has been your favorite project to date?
There have been a few, but I really enjoyed working with Eye Care Associates over the summer. It was fun to pick out a pair of sunglasses, and to learn the importance of wearing them year round.

3) If you could only eat one food for the rest of your life, what would it be?
This is hard! I think it would have to be mashed potatoes.

Sarah writes Back Home Blue, where she logs advice on being a 20-something, maintaining a sense of Southern tradition, and the occasional kitchen victory.

1) Why did you start blogging?
I was a journalism major in college and Tennessee’s journalism department decided my class would be the ‘experimental’ class. They were changing their curriculum to better focus on the digital world and the needs of online journalism. One of my professors strongly suggested we start blogs to learn new skills and grow the skill set we already had. And so, the first version of my blog came to be!

Blogging is really a natural fit for me, however. I used to spend hours writing in journals and making up stories as a kid. Why not move that to the online realm where someone besides my baby doll might read it?

2) What has been your favorite project to date?
Blogging wise, it’s been pretty much any of my “Celebrate Southern” posts. I grew up in a traditional Southern family and feel like a lot of the “tradition” gets lost these days, thanks in large part to songs on the radio that glorify jacked-up trucks, drinking cold beer, and barely-dressed girls. Writing my Celebrate Southern posts lets me talk about that tradition and help keep it alive. Storytelling and passing down traditions is part of that culture– hence the blog posts.

Outside of blogging, it’s a toss up between interviewing Loretta Lynn at the Grand Ole Opry to celebrate her 50th anniversary as an Opry member and covering Kenny Chesney’s premiere of The Color Orange: The Condredge Holloway Story. It was a documentary about the University of Tennessee’s Condredge Holloway, the first black quarterback in the SEC. It was such a cool night– it was my first time on a red carpet, and everyone who matters to Tennessee football was in the room. As a proud Vol, that was pretty much heaven on earth. I very rarely get starstruck, but Peyton Manning almost left me speechless.

3) If you could only eat one food for the rest of your life, what would it be?
My Grandma Myrtle’s fried chicken. It is absolutely awful for you and not remotely gluten-free, but it is so, so good. She fries it in a cast iron pan, usually with Crisco, and as a Southerner, I can assure you that everything tastes better when it comes out of a cast iron pan.

rachelle from pinksole, ambassador for the blogger collectiveRachelle

Rachelle of PinkSole is a serious style-curator and never shies away from a bright color or a big print.

1) Why did you start blogging?
I started blogging because I wanted a creative outlet, I love my job but it is very technical. Blogging is my way to share my personal style and all thing fashion and beauty related.

2) What has been your favorite project to date?
With another blogger, it would be my seasonal Link-Up with Charnele. It was a random idea we had and it has been so beneficial for our blogs.
With a brand, I really cannot choose one, I’ve been so fortunate to work with so many awesome brands.

3) If you could only eat one food for the rest of your life, what would it be?
I would die, I need variety I get bored easily with food. I do eat eggs everyday but I cook it in various ways.

shannon from upbeat soles, ambassador for the blogger collectiveShannon

Shannon is a boho babe who knows how to style without spending a fortune and runs Upbeat Soles.

1) Why did you start blogging?
Fashion has always been a passion of mine and being a big fashion blog reader I always dreamt to have one of my own! Working in the medical field and being in scrubs all the time, I never got to use my fashion creative juices– so I decided to make a space of my own where I can create looks, talk about fashion, and let the creativity flow!

2) What has been your favorite project to date?
That’s a tough one! I would probably have to say my first blogiversary post! It was such a fun shoot and I got a large group of my favorite blogger babes together for a fun giveaway!

3) If you could only eat one food for the rest of your life, what would it be?
That’s another tough one! I would have to say it would be a tie between sushi and crab legs! I would definitely be okay if I only got to eat seafood for the rest of my life! 🙂
