How to Beat Writer’s Block

When you’re a blogger, writer’s block can happen. I think it’s something all bloggers face from time to time no matter what you write about, and no matter how many times you post per week. Here are a few things I like to do when writer’s block hits:

  1. Browse Pinterest. When I’m feeling uninspired by my wardrobe, I love to browse Pinterest for new outfit ideas! I take these ideas and put a spin on it to make it my own.  I’ve also been following a few different Pinterest boards that relate to blogging topics. I’ve seen a few pins that list some great blog post ideas for when you’re uninspired. Pinterest is definitely my number one source when I’m not sure what to write about that week.
  2. Go shopping. I love to go shopping when writer’s block hits, too. I’m able to get out of the house and browse different shops to see what the latest trends are for the season. I may not buy something when I go shopping, but window shopping is a great way to get inspired!
  3. Go on a walk. Get some fresh air! When you have writer’s block, going outside and moving around can definitely help. You won’t come up with new post ideas if you just stare at your computer screen for hours. Leave the house and get inspiration from your surroundings.

How do you overcome writer’s block?

  1. Nice post! I rarely get a writer’s block, because I run multi-topic blog, and I have a lot of activities to do in my free time :). But when I have a writer’s block, I usually browse the internet or listen to music. Or, I will re-read a book, watch an anime, and do some kind of other entertainment. I usually get writer’s block that lasts for 1-2 day(s), how long does your writer’s block usually last?

  2. Tip 2 might be getting a bit expensive, but shopping can definitely get the creativity juice flowing! I also love to take the dog out for a walk and return home inspired. Or by reading other posts, I get inspired as well.
