I’ve been juggling my career, my social life, and blogging for almost 4 years now. I’m no expert on this and it’s difficult at times, but I wanted to share with you how I do it:
I have a full-time job working in the finance industry, so that’s how I spend my day. When it comes to any work-related deadlines or tasks I need to do, I keep up with this in my Simplified Planner by Emily Ley. I swear by this planner and it’s the only way I stay organized! It has a schedule, a to-do list, a notes section, and a dinner section for each day– so helpful in order to stay on top of things.
My social life is reserved for after work and on the weekends. I have dinner with my family a few times a week (a big priority for me), and I have dinner with a friend once or twice a week. I’m also involved in a few North Carolina blogger groups that have meet-ups about once a month. I keep track of all of these plans in my Simplified Planner so that I don’t forget.
When it comes to my blog, I try to write and schedule all of my blog posts for the week on Sundays. I don’t have a lot of time after work, so this helps me stay on track so I’m not overwhelmed. I do, however, comment on blogs and respond to emails each night. Once again, I keep track of any blog posts that are due in my planner, and I also write reminders to myself to post on each social media channel so I don’t forget.
Overall, my schedule is usually pretty packed and it’s important for me to realize I can never do it all. Know that it’s never a bad thing if you have to say no to something because it’s important to also take time for yourself.
