Hallie is a Midwesterner who recently moved from New York to Chicago. She is a fashion + lifestyle blogger. As a result of her corporate job, she decided to start Corals + Cognacs where her writing, styling, and excessive shoe collection would be appreciated.

Q. What is your biggest top blogging tip? The best tip you can give your fellow bloggers that has made your life easier, your blog more successful, or you a better blogger?

A. Be authentic. Focus more on being a genuine storyteller more than anything else. You can read more about my advice for bloggers in this post.

Q. What is your favorite form of social media and why?

A. Snapchat– it’s like the behind-the-scenes of social media. It’s fun, simple, and REAL! (Add me: @coralsncognacs)

Q. How do you stay organized? Either in life or specifically as it relates to blogging, what are some tricks, methods, tools, and/or apps that keep you on top of things?

A. I talk about that a bit in this post, but ultimately:  I keep everything in one place. From workouts to meetings and more, if it’s not on my Google calendar, it didn’t (or doesn’t) happen.

Q. What do you do when you’re feeling uninspired, or when you’re suffering from writer’s block?

A. I get out from behind my computer and workout, walk, or take myself on a solo date. As they say, living your life will inspire your work.

Q. What advice can you give about growing your blog + following? How did you curate your audience, and what are the best tips you can give bloggers who are looking to grow?

A. Be authentic, consistent and genuine. Invest your time in creating high-quality content and the rest will come! (More of my tips on being a better blogger are available here.)
