Another Blogger Chat round comin’ at ya! Today we’re talking with Lacey from A Lacey Perspective. Lacey is a style blogger living in Washington, D.C.
Q. What is your biggest top blogging tip? The best tip you can give your fellow bloggers that has made your life easier, your blog more successful, or you a better blogger?
A. Be you, and no one else. Stop trying to own that bag every blogger has or keep up with every trend. Your readers are visiting because they are inspired by you– not your version of someone else.
Q. What is your favorite form of social media and why?
A. I am currently obsessed with SnapChat (shameless plug: you can find me by searching LacePersepective)! It is so much more authentic. No crazy filters. You can’t take millions of shots for the perfect one. This the actual behind the scenes of your favorite companies, bloggers, and people.
Q. How do you stay organized? Either in life or specifically as it relates to blogging, what are some tricks, methods, tools, and/or apps that keep you on top of things?
A. I live for Trello. It is an amazing way to organize yourself and/or your staff. My staff and I could not live without it.
Q. What do you do when you’re feeling uninspired, or when you’re suffering from writer’s block?
A. I get out of the house. There’s nothing like walking around Georgetown, seeing the people shopping, and taking in how stores are styling their windows.
Q. What advice can you give about growing your blog + following? How did you curate your audience, and what are the best tips you can give bloggers looking to grow?
A. There are three things I always tell my clients to do to begin building a strong following; 1) post consistently (whether that is 2 or 5 times a week. stick to it.); 2) stay consistent on social media (Tweetdeck/Hootsuite will be your best friend); 3) and comment on other blogs (and don’t forget to sign off with your URL).
Thanks so much to Lacey for taking the time to talk to us! Make sure to stop by A Lacey Perspective for more from her!
